Not that these have really been asked frequently, but it sounds so much better than Q&A.

About ABJD
• What does "ABJD" stand for? What . . . exactly are they?
ABJD stands for "Asian Ball-Joint Doll," I use this term specifically since I do not own any BJD that were not manufactured in China, Japan, or Korea. Essentially they are dolls that are articulated with ball-joints and strung together with elastic string. The tension of the string holds them together and enables them to balance in a variety of poses (how well a doll poses depends a lot on the design and varies from company to company).

This is a fairly thorough Wikipedia entry on the topic. It covers basic details as well as a history of. It's much more detailed than I could ever hope to be on the topic.

• Did you make the dolls yourself?
If only. I'm pretty crappy with sculpture, actually.

These dolls are bought from overseas companies, I mark the mold and company individually in each doll's profile (along with a link to where they can be purchased). What I do is customize them. Usually this just means that I paint their faces to convey the character I've got in mind, and then buy a wig and style said wig if necessary. It does a lot to affect the appearance, but I think it's probably the easier part . . . .

• What is the scale for these dolls?
They actually come in a few different sizes. 1/3rd (approx. 60cm) and 1/4th (approx. 43cm) human scale are two standards, dolls smaller than that tend to vary considerably.

My smallest doll is around 20cm, my largest around 63cm. They get both smaller and larger than that.
Art Usage Policies
• What is that Creative Commons license thing?
Creative Commons BY-NC-ND: Attribution, Non-Commercial, No Derivative. It basically means you can repost my stuff, as is, if you add a disclaimer that it is not your own work and credit back to where you got it. You may not, however, change it in any way. (I have the ability to grant specific rights, if you ask me about it, and I'm a fairly laid back person . . . so I might. If you ask before you do it.)

Readable by the average human version:
CC BY-NC-ND Deed.

Readable by lawyers and others who read bullshit legalese:
CC BY-NC-ND License.
• What kinds of things would you grant extra rights for?
Mostly personal stuff to be honest. Say you want a pretty wallpaper or icon. Stuff that is non-commercial and doesn't change the context of the characters. (An example where the context of the characters could change is if you decided that XX looks like they'd make a cool image for [insert RP character here]--just no.]

Basically, just ask and we'll see. Depending on how interesting I find things, I could be willing to grant rights for other projects. Key is to ask before you do the things. I will never grant rights if you post it first and only ask permission when caught.
Technical Specs
• Who is your webhost?
Site5, they've been pretty good so far. They've definitely earned the money I pay them.
• What sort of coding do you use?
• XHTML 1.0 Transitional
• CSS
• Javascript (Lightbox script)
• PHP (include commands)
• What software do you use?
I code by hand in CoffeeCup HTML editor (this is more because it color codes stuff, making it easier to read for mistakes, than out of necessity). I've also used Notepad in the past.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 for graphic design and photo editing purposes.
• What camera do you use?
Fujifilm Finepix S8100fd. It's already outdated. It's basically a point-and-shoot camera trying hard to be a DSLR. I didn't have the funds for a full DSLR, but wanted the ability to manually control my aperture and shutter speed. It was the best camera for the budget I had.

(Older photos were taken with a Sony Cybershot. You will be able to tell the difference, trust me.)
